Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region Earns National Re-accreditation

The Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region is pleased to announce that we have earned our re-accreditation from the Council on Foundations. This significant accomplishment reaffirms our adherence to the Community Foundations National Standards by representing our commitment to rigorous, sector-driven best practices that exceed federal and state law requirements and demonstrates accountability and excellence to the people and communities we serve. We earned accreditation in 2001 and have maintained it every year since then.

“We hold ourselves to the highest standards,” stated Curt Detjen, President & CEO of the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region. “This re-accreditation for meeting National Standards for Community Foundations affirms we are approaching our mission in the right way, not only producing great outcomes but doing it the right way. The community benefits when there is trust in us, and we are seen as a trustworthy partner. I congratulate our entire team–staff and board alike– for this accomplishment!”

Maintaining this accreditation requires a thorough review of the Community Foundation’s policies, practices, and dedication to ethical and effective philanthropy. We are among more than 500 accredited community foundations in the United States. To maintain this status, we must meet and remain compliant with comprehensive standards around key areas of excellence that include structure and governance, grantmaking, resource development, community engagement, and accountability. These key areas help demonstrate that our Community Foundation is well-run and results oriented.
