Ways to Support Disaster Response in the Southeast
Hurricanes Helene and Milton have caused mass destruction in areas of Florida, western North Carolina, and other areas of the southeastern part of the country. Knowing that many communities are without power, accessible roads, and basic needs such as food, water, and shelter, they need our help. The devastation is unimaginable, and funds are needed for immediate relief as well as support for long-term recovery efforts. Many Community Foundations are helping to raise funds to support the people living in the affected areas.
One way you can support relief efforts is by visiting Philanthropy Southeast. This trusted up-to-date resource will provide you with Community Foundations and other philanthropic organizations throughout the region that are accepting donations to help sustain long-term relief efforts and recovery efforts in the weeks, months, and years ahead. You will also find volunteer opportunities. The residents of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia have all been affected and need our help. New hurricanes are already being predicted to hit some of these same areas as hurricane season does not end until early November. Philanthropy Southeast continues to closely monitor the hurricane relief efforts and ways we can support affected communities.
As we keep the people and communities affected by these catastrophic hurricanes in our thoughts, we can also help them rebuild their lives by giving generously. Our team is here to help you support relief efforts through grants from your funds here at the Community Foundation, should you choose to do so.
