Chilton Area Community Foundation helps community flourish
Our Chilton Area Community Foundation affiliate partner recently released its 2023 Community Report highlighting ways it has helped to positively impact the quality of life in their community. The report celebrates the distribution of $996,206 in grants to 46 nonprofit organizations and 51 scholarships totaling $114,000.
One grant example is REACH bags, which are durable backpacks filled with new books and drawstring bags that are given by first responders to children during a stressful event, such as a car crash, domestic situation or temporary homelessness. “Anything that we can do to help distract (the children), keep their mind off of that, is always beneficial,” said Dylan Jones, a firefighter and first responder with the Chilton Fire Department.
The Foundation received $884,049 in contributions bringing its total assets to $12,783,206. “Our donor fund holders directed grants to support organizations and causes personally meaningful to them, including significant support for Habitat for Humanity’s local Rock the Block project, and upgrades at Nennig Park that included an inclusive playground spearheaded by the Matt Kolbe Foundation,” said Derek McDermott, Chilton Area Foundation board chair. “The generosity of our community is amazing, and we should all feel proud to be a part of it.”
