Clintonville Area Foundation highlights annual community impact
Our Clintonville Area Foundation affiliate partner awarded $50,071 in grants to 11 nonprofit organizations in 2023, as highlighted in its recently released 2023 Community Report. The Foundation also awarded 14 scholarships totaling $15,616 to help local students further their education. After receiving $144,904 in contributions last year, its assets increased to $1,382,030.
The report includes stories featuring donors and projects made possible through charitable grants, including a grant to the Goodfellows of Clintonville and Marion for their annual holiday distribution program. More than 300 area households received grocery store vouchers, toys, clothes, winter outerwear, boots and other items. “With inflation continuing to make its effects known, the need was huge. The contributions…helped the Goodfellows tremendously in our goal of meeting the needs of our most vulnerable residents,” said Steve Conradt, president of the Goodfellows of Clintonville and Marion.
“There is a great need to grow the Clintonville Community Fund, which helps support local nonprofit organizations,” said Sue Aschliman, Clintonville Area Foundation advisory board Chair. “In 2023 we received $20,500 in grant requests and fulfilled $14,188 for seven organizations, leaving more demand for funding.”
The report also recognizes the recipient of the Foundation’s 13th annual Community Hero Award started by Clintonville native Dan Olk. The award comes with $2,000 to direct to local nonprofit organizations. Last year’s award recipient, Dave Schmidt, was honored for his devotion to the Clintonville Area Food Pantry where he has volunteered since 2010.
