Every time I chat with an educator, deliver a grant, or read a final grant report, I am reminded of the passion educators bring to their work every day. It’s humbling to support them through grants and other funding. As we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, I want to lift up the educators in our community and suggest a few ways we can show appreciation for these very important people.

Educators do more than teach reading, writing and math. They get to know each student. They plan engaging lessons that meet individual learning needs. They cheer students on during extra-curricular activities. They mentor, coach and counsel. In short, educators go above and beyond to ensure their students thrive.

Bringing Ideas to Life

While educators provide inspiration and guidance to students, organizations like the Appleton Education Foundation (AEF), with the backing of hundreds of education-minded donors, play a pivotal role in supporting educators. Through grants and other funding, AEF empowers and validates educators to develop innovative, impactful approaches to further engage and inspire their students. AEF helps bring educators’ creative ideas to life.

Teacher Appreciation Week is the perfect opportunity to express gratitude for the educators who help shape our children, and in turn, our future. Join us in celebrating and honoring the incredible educators in our community. Write a thank you note. Share a kind word. Give educators a shout-out in a social media post.
