Love doesn’t discriminate. It doesn’t pick and choose. Love isn’t pro this or pro that, but proactive and protective. When there’s so much to fight against, love fights for. When others flee, love runs toward. And when darkness prevails, love remembers its strength. For 156 years, The Salvation Army has loved all who feel lost. With your help, we’ll never stop.

The Salvation Army Fox Cities wants to remind everyone this Christmas season that the Red Kettle season is Nov. 16—Dec. 24. Every dollar helps. Every dollar stays local. Our geographic area that we serve includes Appleton, Menasha, Neenah, Fox Crossing, Greenville, Darboy, Grand Chute, Combined Locks, Kaukauna and Kimberly.

The funds collected during the Red Kettle season are extremely important because they are the donations that help fund all our year-round programs. Our Christmas goal is $1.195 million and our Red Kettle goal is $270,000. We need all the help we can get to continue doing the most good in our community. Every dollar counts.

During a match day in Red Kettle season, donations that day are doubled so your donation goes further. This year on Dec. 2, the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region is matching $51,000. Staff and board members will be ringing bells at the Menasha Festival.

The Salvation Army Fox Cities’ year-round programs include:

• Emergency Disaster Services Program (helps disaster survivors.)
• Noon Meal Program and Food Pantry Program (feeds the hungry.)
• Transitional and Scattered Housing Program (provides shelter.)
• Celebrate Recovery Recovery Program (combats addiction.)
• Christmas Assistance Program (helps families during the holidays with food, toys, Adopt-A-Family and Coats for Kids.)
• Unemployment Assistance
• Child Care

Without organizations like the Community Foundation supporting our local match days and the community contributions to help meet that match, it would be hard to meet our goal that allows us to feed, house and help those in need. We are very grateful for the Community Foundation’s match.

Our Community Foundation Salvation Army – Fox Cities’ Match Day is on Friday, December 2, thanks to our many generous donors with funds at the Community Foundation who will match all funds raised that day up to $51,000. Our regional affiliate partner, Brillion Area Family of Funds, will hold its Red Kettle Match on two upcoming Saturdays thanks to The Robert & Patricia Endries Family Fund, which will match up to $10,000 for donations at Tadych’s Marketplace Foods (formerly Econo Foods), on Saturday, Dec. 3 and Saturday, Dec. 10.
