COVID grant helps Menasha nonprofit distribute cool relief
A $15,000 grant from the COVID-19 Community Response Fund is helping St. Joseph Food Program purchase food coolers to serve those in need. The coolers store milk and other perishable items as part of its new drive-up method of distributing food weekly to people in the greater Fox Valley area, primarily from Neenah to Kaukauna.
This cooler pictured above holds 192 gallons of milk. The Menasha-based nonprofit says it is able to get through one distribution using two coolers during the COVID-19 crisis.
“Thanks to the grants committee for the support you offered St. Joe’s with the funds to make this purchase. This certainly makes the job better and protects our milk investment,” says Monica Clare, executive director of St. Joseph Food Program.
The COVID-19 Community Response Fund was established by the Community Foundation and United Way Fox Cities. Check out the other grants to local nonprofits and see our updated list of those who’ve generously donated to the fund.
