Welcome, Megan!
Hi! I am Megan Mulholland, and I am thrilled to be the new Director of Marketing and Communications for the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region.
While growing up in Marshfield, Wisconsin — the youngest child of four and only girl — I learned about perseverance, compassion, athletics, nature and creativity from my family, friends and neighbors.
I like to talk and wanted to get paid to do so. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with a double major in English and mass communications, I did radio news in Platteville, and newspaper reporting in Marshfield and Appleton. For more than 16 years, I managed all external communications for ThedaCare, northeast Wisconsin’s largest employer. I led all public relations, media relations, crisis communications, social media and web content for the healthcare system.
I am responsible for managing the execution of all internal and external communications functions of the Foundation. I provide strategic direction and planning guidance. My responsibilities include writing plans for print and electronic communications, social media and media relations. In addition to the Fox Cities area, I will assist the Foundation affiliates in Shawano, Clintonville, Waupaca, Chilton and Brillion with their communications. You will also see me out in the community, representing the Foundation at various activities.
I am excited to share the stories of the dynamic and innovative actions of our donors and those who benefit from their generosity. We will let more people know about the incredible ways philanthropy is being used to change the Fox Valley region for the better.
I am assuming the role and responsibilities previously held by Tammy Williams. She didn’t go anywhere – she transitioned to Vice President of Community Engagement, which includes oversight of marketing and communications.
My son, Brandon, is a freshman at Appleton North High School and my daughter, Madison, is a sixth-grader at Kaleidoscope Academy in Appleton. We volunteer with Saving Paws Animal Rescue and have adopted two cats (Bond and Saige) and a Hurricane Harvey puppy (Sissy). They join an old border terrier named Peyton and a corn snake, Rocky.
I have a goal to visit all 50 states and all seven continents. In addition, I love reading, writing, exploring the outdoors, nibbling on M&Ms and cheering on the Minnesota Vikings.
