Fight Poverty, Not The People Who Live It
Dr. Donna Beegle grew up in generational poverty and has studied poverty for more than 20 years. She will share her personal insights during a free presentation on May 31 hosted by CAP Services and sponsored by the Community Foundation. The event titled “Fight Poverty, Not The People Who Live It” will be held 3:00-4:30 p.m. at UW-Fox Valley’s Perry Hall, 1478 Midway Road, Menasha.
Dr. Beegle is president of Communication Across Barriers, a consulting firm devoted to improving communication and relationships across poverty barriers, and founder of The Poverty Bridge Project, which provides direct opportunities for people living in the crisis of poverty.
“Dr. Beegle’s powerful presentation and story inspire us to action by confronting the many prejudices and preconceived notions that surround low-income people,” said Mary Patoka, CAP’s president and CEO.
