Working here reveals community’s generosity

VP Donor Services & Gift Planning
Four years ago, I joined the Community Foundation as donor services manager and my eyes were opened to the incredible generosity that is the cornerstone of our community. I am honored and thrilled to move into the role of VP of Donor Services & Gift Planning.
My husband, Dan, and I moved to the Fox Valley from Philadelphia 18 years ago with our two little kids, Elizabeth, who was four at the time, and Robert, who was two. Having lived in several different areas, we were looking to raise our children in the Midwest and move closer to our families. I grew up in Chicago and Dan was raised in Stevens Point. We had a strong appreciation for Midwestern values and wanted our children to know their grandparents.
In all honesty, the Fox Valley was not on our list of target communities. However, everything fell into place and we decided that we would give it a try. We quickly discovered what so many others already know, this community is a gem! At every step of the way, the Fox Valley has been a perfect fit for our family.
Much of what has contributed to our family’s quality of life involves nonprofit organizations. Swim lessons at the YMCA, sailing lessons at Fox Valley Sailing School, participating in numerous school and rec sporting activities, performing in the opening show at the Jane Bergstrom Fine Arts Education Center at St. Mary Catholic High School or competing in the area’s numerous VEX Robotics tournaments – they all contribute to making this a fabulous community. Now, in my new position, I’ll have even more opportunity to help donors connect with nonprofits and provide the support to help them thrive.
After all these years and experiences, we are proud to call this fabulous community our home.
