Board members as fund-raisers explored at Thursday workshop
It’s never been more important for boards and staff to work together effectively to solicit financial support for your organization. One of the nonprofit nation’s best presenters on that subject will share his expertise at a workshop 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, at the Bridgewood Resort and Hotel, 1000 Cameron Way, Neenah.
Chuck V. Loring, MBA, CFRE, of Loring, Sternberg & Associates, will discuss board recruitment, structure, operations and culture. The second part of the workshop focuses on how to involve board members in effective fundraising and their role in supporting your bequest and planned giving program.
This event is sponsored by the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region, United Way Fox Cities and Schenck, The practical session addresses the complementary roles board members play in their organization’s governance and resource development. Nonprofit staff members should be accompanied by at least two or three board members, but having more will make the session even more successful.
