Grant recipient thankful to help prevent homelessness during COVID-19
“We are grateful to receive a $20,000 grant from the Covid-19 Community Response Fund, established by the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region and United Way Fox Cities.”
St. Vincent de Paul, one of our nonprofit partners, made the difficult decision to close its Appleton Thrift Store to protect their employees and community, but is continuing to provide basic needs for its neighbors who are struggling. The organization created this video as a thank you for the grant received last week:
To help vulnerable people living in Outagamie and Waupaca counties remain safe in their homes and prevent homelessness, the $20,000 grant will help St. Vincent de Paul respond to an increase in urgent requests for assistance with food, transportation, housing and other basic needs.
The COVID-19 Community Response Fund was established by the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region and United Way Fox Cities, with additional generous donations from the community. Grants from this fund support nonprofit and other community organizations engaging in immediate basic needs relief, short-term response and longer-term recovery in Outagamie, Calumet, Shawano, Waupaca and the Neenah-Menasha area of Winnebago counties impacted by the COVID-19 public health emergency.
We invite you to donate now to the COVID-19 Community Response Fund. You can also learn about who has given to the fund, the fund’s grant recipients, and check out our latest news and updates.
