Shawano Area Benefits from $41,000 in Grants

Our Shawano Area Community Foundation affiliate partner has announced $41,000 in grants to 19 nonprofit organizations to improve the quality of life in Shawano and the surrounding area, awarded through its annual competitive grant cycle. 

“We are excited to award $41,000 in grants to 19 local nonprofits working to enhance the quality of life in Shawano County. These organizations are having a meaningful impact, and we are proud to support their efforts to strengthen our community.” said Todd Swedberg, Board Member and Grants Committee Chair of the Shawano Area Community Foundation. “The generosity of our community makes these grants possible, and we want to express our gratitude to everyone who has supported the Shawano Area Community Foundation. These grants would not be possible without this continued support.” 

The Shawano Area Community Foundation approved these grants from its annual competitive grant program: 

Big Brothers Big Sisters

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Wisconsin: $1,500 to support the Shawano County Youth Mentoring Program. 
  • Boys and Girls Club of the Bay & Lakes Region: $3,000 to support programming in Shawano. 
  • Community Benefit Tree: $2,000 to help Shawano families facing medical crises.  
  • Exceptional Equestrians: $2,000 to support equine therapy services.  
  • Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin, Inc.: $3,000 to help strengthen families in the Shawano Area through education, intervention, and support.  
  • Flo’ing With Kindness Food Pantry: $2,000 to provide fresh milk and eggs to pantry customers, and to help heat the building during the winter.  
  • Marion Daycare Inc.: $1,500 to support preschool curriculum and purchase supplies.  
  • Navarino Nature Center: $3,500 to support the construction of a Nature Playscape.  

Trees for Tomorrow

  • Northeast Wisconsin Technical College Educational Foundation: $3,000 to support Shawano County students via scholarships. 
  • Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Eastern Wisconsin, Inc.: $1,000 to support the Adopt A Room program.  
  • Safe Haven: $3,000 to support repairs and maintenance of the shelter.  
  • SAM 25: $3,000 to assist with utilities, maintenance, and supplies.  
  • Shawano Adventure Sports: $1,500 to support the construction of a pump track at Kuckuk Park.  
  • Shawano Area Food Center: $2,000 to assist with utilities and maintenance.  
  • The FRESH Project: $1,000 to support the Farmers Market $5 token program.  
  • The Salvation Army of Shawano County: $2,000 to purchase school supplies for children in the Shawano area for the 2025-2026 school year.  
  • Trees For Tomorrow, Inc.: $2,000 to support students attending a 3-day environmental education experience in May 2025.   
  • Unity Hospice: $2,000 to provide Supportive Care Management.  
  • WAMSCO: $2,000 to support the stabilization of shoreline for the creation of an accessible pathway on Gibson Island.
