Hello everyone!
My name is Austin Dyer and I am spending the summer as an intern here at the Community Foundation.
I was born and raised on a ranch in Loveland, CO (a city located on the foothills of the Rocky Mountains). I am currently a rising senior at Cornell College, where I play basketball and am majoring in business, with a concentration in finance.
This is my first time in Appleton outside of basketball trips to play Lawrence University. I have found the city to be full of surprises, with great events and amazing people. It is clear that the people here are very generous, as evidenced by the scholarships and other charitable funds donors have established through the Community Foundation.
On top of getting to know all of the gifts people have given, I have had the opportunity to sit in on the Foundation’s Investment Committee, and get firsthand experience with the Finance, Communications & Marketing and Community Engagement departments of the Foundation.
My future plans are still unclear, however my past experience at Northwestern Mutual and this current internship at the Community Foundation have broadened my understanding of potential career paths.
I am looking forward to the rest of the summer and all the great opportunities it will bring.
Thank you for reading, and have a wonderful summer!
