Every Monday through Friday during the noon hour, friendly volunteer drivers deliver hot, nutritious meals to seniors living within the city limits of Neenah and Menasha. This happens through the Meals on Wheels program where Valley VNA Senior Care collaborates with volunteer delivery drivers from the Neenah-Menasha Emergency Society and the dietary staff at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah.

Nearing the end of 2025, Valley VNA Senior Care reached out to the Community Foundation for assistance as they were in need of $6,000 to support food items and $13,050 to support the full operational costs of the Meals on Wheels program. Valley VNA Senior Care has experienced increase in demand like many other food programs this past year and also had concerns they may not receive funding in 2026.

“Knowing this is an important service that provides seniors with an essential basic need, we worked with our fund holders who we knew had an interest in supporting programs like this,” said Megan Schuessler, Vice President of Donor Services & Gift Planning for the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region. “Within a few weeks we were able to secure more than $20,000 in funding. We are so grateful for our wonderful donors and to be able to provide peace-of-mind for area seniors who rely on this program for their nutritional needs.”

“With rising demand for Meals on Wheels and increasing food and operational costs, we were deeply grateful for the additional funding received at the end of 2025 to support our program,” said Becky Reichelt, President & CEO of Valley VNA Senior Care. “This funding helped us meet critical financial needs while continuing to offer an affordable, hot, nutritious noon meal along with the added benefit of meaningful social connections through our volunteer drivers.”
