Clintonville Area Charities Receive $13,564 in grants

The Clintonville Area Foundation has awarded $13,564.23 in grants to six nonprofit organizations serving the Clintonville area.

The grants, which benefit a range of community causes, were awarded from a variety of charitable funds within the community foundation this year.

“The Foundation’s mission to enhance and improve the social, cultural, educational, health and general well being of the people in the Clintonville Area was well served with these grants,” says Jill Cassiani, Advisory Board Chairperson of the Clintonville Area Foundation. “We are thrilled to award these grants to benefit our community, especially now with the pandemic having such an adverse effect on so many lives.”

Eligible nonprofit organizations submitted grant requests through the Foundation’s annual competitive process. The Foundation’s volunteer grants committee members recommend grant recipients to the advisory board for approval.

The following grants were approved:

• Camp HOPE (Weekend Bereavement Camp) – $500 to support Camp HOPE, a free weekend bereavement camp that is offered three times per year, spring, fall and winter to provide grieving children a safe space to begin working on their grief and achieve a healthy means for healing.
• Clintonville Goodfellows Association (Annual Holiday Distribution) – $3,000 to provide food, food vouchers, blankets, winter outerwear, and toys to families in need in the Clintonville and Marion School Districts during the Holiday season.
• Girl Scouts of the Northeastern Great Lakes (Virtual Girl Scout Experience & Mental Health Kits) – $500 to provide mental health kits and virtual Girl Scout programming to girls in the Clintonville area in response to the of the COVID-19 pandemic so that girls can continue developing their leadership skills and benefiting from social and emotional connection.
• Mission of Hope House of Wisconsin (Moving Families Forward During COVID-19 and Beyond) – $3,000 to support shelter, resources, and training for homeless individuals and families, helping them set goals toward self-sufficiency, while taking precautions to fight against the spread of COVID-19. Served 10 individuals from Clintonville in 2020.
• Navarino Nature Center (Providing Nature and Renewable Energy Education) – $3,564.23 ¬- to support the center’s mission to educate people of all ages on the importance of nature and renewable energy and to provide opportunities to develop a healthy lifestyle.
• Safe Haven Domestic Abuse Support Center (Encouraging Safe Communities and Meeting Participant Needs) – $3,000 to support their mission to encourage a safe community, free of physical and sexual violence and emotional abuse by meeting participants’ needs including hotel stays, food, hygiene, basic living supplies, gas cards, etc.

Established in 1995, the Clintonville Area Foundation’s mission is to enhance and improve the social, cultural, educational, health and general well-being of people in the Clintonville area. In 2000, it became a geographic affiliate of the Appleton, WI-based Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region.
