$50,000 offered for visionary idea in Waupaca County

The Tim and Joy Neuville Family Fund within the Waupaca Area Community Foundation is offering a Forward Together Grant of up to $50,000 to encourage nonprofit organizations serving communities in Waupaca County to think big and propose visionary projects that will make a significant, long-term difference. Applications are due May 1.

“We are doing this both to thank the community for supporting our business for the past 40-plus years and to see what needs can be met in our community if larger grants are available,” said Tim Neuville, President of Neuville Motors in Waupaca and Chairman of the WACF’s Board of Directors.

The Neuvilles established their charitable endowment fund with the nonprofit WACF in 2005 to help them engage in current and lasting giving that makes a difference in the Waupaca area. The fund generates grants each year that the Neuvilles can recommend to nonprofit organizations locally and beyond. “Our family fund originally was set up to mainly handle any monies we were putting in place for our kids to oversee after we were gone,” Mr. Neuville said. “However, the Community Foundation also makes it very easy to put monies into the fund to quickly and easily help us distribute as needed.”

Successful Forward Together Grant applications will feature projects and programs that demonstrate bold ideas and forward thinking. Evaluation criteria includes:

Building projects, program expansions and capital campaigns will be considered. Eligible applicants include organizations involved in communitywide projects that affect all residents, including religious organizations.

The Neuville fund grant will not fund:

“By offering a difference-making amount of money, we are hoping to see a great response with bold ideas that can be seen and felt in our area,” Mr. Neuville said.
