On today’s to-do list: Join a global day of giving to encourage philanthropy and celebrate generosity. #Giving Tuesday has been happening on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving since 2012 to begin the holiday giving season and inspire people to take action to improve their communities. Consider giving your time, skills, voice, dollars, and goods to your favorite charities, or pay it forward and help others.

We applaud and celebrate the people and businesses that care so deeply about the Fox Valley region that they not only give generously to your community foundation to benefit local nonprofit organizations today, but also plan to do so for generations to come. They do this through charitable funds, totaling 1,490, that provide grants to a wide range of nonprofit organizations locally and beyond. Last year, a record $26.8 million in grants were awarded from funds. Read a few inspiring stories of giving.

Ways you can get involved with your community foundation:

• Donate to our Bright Idea Fund, which  preserves and enhances the quality of life in Calumet, Outagamie, Shawano, and Waupaca counties and the Neenah-Menasha area of Winnebago county by awarding grants to charitable organizations that are working to make a difference in their communities. • Contribute to a community fund with one of our geographic affiliates in Brillion, Chilton, Clintonville, Shawano, and Waupaca to benefit
  nonprofit organizations meeting needs in those areas.  Give now.

• Help us continue to fulfill our mission of strengthening our community for current and future generations by helping people make a difference in the lives of others. Give to our Friends of the Foundation Fund to support our operations. Give now.

• Start a fund or plan a future gift that keeps giving today and for generations to come.
